Mission Statement

All Cartoon Workshops aim to teach basic concepts of drawing, whatever the subject, that are universal to all drawing.

Every workshop introduces the attendees to professional equipment (light-box, lay figures, brushes, ink pens, nibs) and gives the attendees the opportunity to use some of these in creating original drawings in the class.

Every class uses a step by step process to teach the basic concepts that are then used by the attendees to create their own original cartoon images. We seek to convey a professional image and present to the attendees the professional face of cartooning.

Above all, we aim to encourage the attendees to have fun and enjoy the process of creating their own cartoon images using the techniques taught during the Cartoon Workshops.

We have surveyed over 250 children/teenagers and are creating new workshops based on the results of what the children/teenagers wish to learn the most.

Materials

All materials are provided for use during the workshops. Materials provided include:-

pencils
rubbers
sharpeners
two different kinds of pens for inking

We also introduce the attendees to professional equipment, such as the light box. They can try this during particular workshops that feature the light box.

Client Provision:

We ask the client provide a ream of white A4 print paper for use during the class.
We ask, where possible, the client provide a white board for use during the workshop. This is not essential and we can provide one, if necessary.
A display board for posters using velcro tabs, otherwise, allowance to blue tac posters to a wall for use as teaching aids.
We request, where possible, that children have tables and chairs to sit at during the workshop. This will enable them to last the duration of the workshop better. However if this is not doable it is not essential to the running, or success, of the activity.

Age Group

Children: 5-12 yrs

Teenage: 13-17 yrs

Adults: 18 yrs and over

Each workshop is adjusted accordingly to fit the age and comprehension abilities of the attendees.

The classes are supervised by adults who have teaching experience and have government accredited current Blue Cards.

Minimum Number: 10 attendees per workshop.

Maximum Number: 35 attendees per workshop - see notes below

We can cater for up to 35 attendees at a time, however the size of the group will determine our ability to give individual attention.

If numbers go over 35 attendees per workshop we charge extra of $10 for each attendee over this number limit.

When clients have large numbers we recommend that they take advantage of our Special - two Cartoon Workshops in one location, on the same day for $550.

This is a saving of $50 for two workshops, as our basic cost is $300 per workshop.

2 one hour Cartoon Workshops in the SAME LOCATION on the SAME DAY only $750 (not including travel fee, max limit of 35 children per workshop)

This is a saving of $30 off the normal costs.
