Caricature Rates

The Basic Caricature quoted below includes the subjects head, body, and one to
two simple items to include in the image.
More complex images eg machinery will possibly have an added cost that will be
negotaited with client if this is wanted.

How long does a caricature take?

The caricature usually takes 10-14 working days, though arrangements can usually be made for urgent orders. (Allow extra time if you require delivery.)

What do I get?

The final caricature you’ll receive is a digital print of the highest quality on 200gsm matte acid-free art board. This will be the case for both colour and black/white caricatures.

Details to include in Caricature request

Please include in your request any important details about the subject you may want included in the caricature. This may include:

- Hobbies - Pastimes - Favourite Sports - Favourite Clothes - Favourite Foods - Likes - Dislikes - Habits - Music Preferences - Nationality - Political persuasion - Fashion - Favourite Saying -

Please include the event that the caricature is for: eg birthday, retirement, corporate or other. The more information about the person you supply the better I am able to build a meaningful image of the person.

Captions or speech balloons: These can be included but depending on extra time taken will be quoted on as an extra. This depends on complexity of request.

Photo for Caricature use

Comic Express requires a high quality head and shoulders photograph. Also a body image if relevent. Please email or send a photo of the person/persons being caricatured. If emailed the file should be no bigger than 200-300dpi, 1-2 Mb. A colour image is preferred.

The Process

Stage One: I get your request and finalise the final costing if extra images or items are added to the basic caricature outlined above.

Stage Two: You get a rough pencil sketch within 7 working days. This can be negotiated depending on your time frame needs.

Stage Three: Once the pencil rough is approved the final drwaing will be drawn up, inked prepared for printing. Colour is added at this time. Half Payment is required at the time of the caricature unless otherwise negotiated.

Stage Four: The final image is printed and mailed to you. A reciept for the work done may be included if this required. Please see Payment Methods section below.

Payment Methods

Payment can be made by credit card via Paypal though this site. Or it can be paid via cheque or direct bank transfer. See Paypal page click here.

Conditions of payment: Usually half of the quoted price is required upon commencement of the caricature with the remaining half being paid on the day of completion and mailing.

Cancellations: Any job cancelled upon commence will require 25% payment of the price quoted on the caricature job. This is negotaible with Comic Express. Anywork carried out by Comic Express will require payment for time taken.

Reciepts: A reciept may be included if reuqested for tax purposes.

Postage and Handling

The cost of mailing will depend on the size of the image (A4 or A3) and where it is being sent? Most postage should not be more than $10.00 within Australia.

Framing

Framing is not included in this cost. We can organize framing but this will increase the basic price due to travel time and mailing cost. It is better for the client to organise their own framing. If the client wishes to have the caricature to frame please let us know and we can work to a date of finish that allows three to four days for the client to organize framing.

Copyright

Comic Express retains all final ownership of the final original artwork and the image commercially. Any use of the image other than what is sent must be only carried out once approved by Comic Express. The client may seek copyright and original artwork ownership if desired through negotaition with Comic Express.
